„Brave New Media World“ – a subject of daily challenges – takes place 22-24 September 2017 in Ingelheim, close to Frankfurt in Germany and is hosted by the EWMD chapter Rhein-Main in cooperation with the corporate member Boehringer Ingelheim.
Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Dorothee Beck, working with Gender Studies at Philipps-University in Marburg. She will provide us with the newest studies regarding Gender Trouble in New Media: What is the News on the images of women and men? Digital news media drives a fundamental change in the way journalists, as the fourth power in the state, observe politics and business. Are the images of men, women and other gender as innovative as the new media at large claim to perform? We will have the opportunity to share experiences on how to play the media’s game competently to influence one’s self-presentation. To learn more about Dorothee’s vita please, click here.
The conference will also present several start-up projects. The one of Simon Broich is BPP – Best Practice Price. The comparison with the BPP helps you to enhance your purchasing decisions including social costs such as environmental pollution etc.
The conference team organized two great evening events: On Friday evening you will have the opportunity to meet with international and German EWMD board members at the „EWMD Dialogue“ and on top of this enjoy an excellent Wine Tasting Dinner at the Cloister Hotel Wasen in Ingelheim. Saturday night we will spend together on the River Rhine with dinner & dancing.
Non-Smoking Rule: Whilst on the Boehringer Ingelheim campus you will not be able to enjoy a cigarette due to safety regulations. Any violation will be legally prosecuted. Please keep this in mind!
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you in Ingelheim and will do our utmost to make the international EWMD conference 2017 as interesting and exciting as possible!
